Weed is a convicted murderer; smuggling a gun into the courtroom where Hardcastle is presiding over his re-trial, he shoots and wounds the Judge. He threatens Henderson with a sharpened spoon, tosses a cop against car, and shoots a cop.

CHARACTER

Crazy, Manson-like. Very flat, expressionless, and non-blinking, then turns violent. Weed has a girlfriend, Sybil, who helps him escape, and stays with him at motel.

COMMENTS

Good scenes for JB include his big courtroom speech, and the scene with Sybil where he stokes her face, she mouths his hand, and they smile at each other.

Prison clothes, dark blue wool watch cap. Vertical dark scar on chin.

DEATH SCENE

Shot by McCormick, who has never killed anyone before.

LINES

"I can't sleep at all no more, Jerry. I got so many guys I gotta score on it's like my head, it won't stop."

"I plead wisdom by reason of insanity. I plead that you're dead."
