SERIES PLOT

Soap opera about the wealthy Falcon Crest winery family headed by matriarch Angela Channing in the "Tuscany Valley" near San Francisco. Money, power, sex, land, and greed were story staples. Later seasons were noteworthy for murders, bombings, and a variety of criminal activities. Though the series ran 1981-1990, JB appeared as a recurring character in just the sixth season. The plot summaries here will address only the plot line that concerned his character.

The season featured the arrival of mysterious Kit Marlowe, thought to be Skyler Kimble, the long-lost step-daughter of Peter Stavros. Stavros is the manipulative and controlling shipping magnate, new husband of Angela Channing. Kit was a friend of Skyler's on the run from the mob, having witnessed a hit. The mob kills Skyler, thinking she's Kit, so Kit poses as Skyler to hide, and comes to Falcon Crest to reunite with her 'father.' Richard Channing discovers her identity and blackmails her. Tony Cumson, back to reunite with his son Lance Cumson, falls for Kit. The mob after Kit is headed by billionaire Roland Saunders. Kit eventually poisons his cigar just before Stavros hits him with a wrench. Kolinski works for Saunders. (And that's just the one plot line.)

CHARACTER

Classy. He's polite, fastidious, dresses beautifully, loves good food, old movies, music, and Masterpiece Theater. Working for a billionaire for eight years allows him to have expensive tastes. Almost always cool-headed, he does what is needed to complete the job at hand.

JB describes Kolinski as "a killer" and, the producers told him, one of the few that got away and wasn't killed. (MG94)
