PLOT

A cop killer has just been paroled. Cagney and Lacey have to guard him for only a short time, but he gets killed on their watch. Even though none of the cops regret the murder, they must track down the killer.

CHARACTER

Low opinion of women cops, sexist attitudes, mocks and ogles Cagney. Enjoys things he couldn’t get in prison, like cigars, shrimp cocktail, and beer. "A real piece of work." Good business for JB includes rolling his eyes when Cagney threatens him, licking his fingers, and a nice fall over the arm of the couch.

"Aw, I don’t believe this! Women cops? You might as well put a bullet right through me."

"Hey, blondie, why don’t you put some coffee on?"

(About crank caller) "Did he say dirty things? What did he say?"

"Why don’t you take the phone off the hook, Lacey? Do you like to hear those dirty things?"

"Quiet time? Quiet time? What am I, in nursery school here?"
